Nina Hagen, born in Berlin in 1947, started her career as a singer and actress. In 1974 she became the first German female member of the legendary punk band The New York Dolls. In 1979 she also started her solo career. In 1982, she released her first album "Hab' im Gluck" ("I'm Lucky")
This was followed by a string of hit albums and singles that sold millions of copies worldwide. Her songs were covered by many other artists. Nina Hagen has performed at many major music festivals, including Montreux, Roskilde, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Glastonbury (UK).
She made numerous TV appearances and hosted her own show on German TV station RTL.
